PLAN FRUSTRATIONS!!!

In May we handed over our initial sketches of required changes to Cascade plans, upgrades and half of required deposit (second half due when plans and contracts are signed).

This deposit is supposed to cover cost of :-

  • Site Inspections

  • Sketch Design

  • Specification Options

  • Preliminary Costings

  • Contract

Between payment of Deposit (May) and late October the Builder presented no less than 6 sets of plans trying capture all our requirements.

Practically all they needed to know was on the original sketches that we provided them with most of the delays and reworking has been caused by having to use the sales person as an intermediary between us and the builders Drafting Dept. If we had been able to talk directly to them from the start then this frustrating period (5 Months) could have been reduced dramatically!

As can be seen from the initial sketch and the latest plan from the Builder there are no major differences.

Anyway we used this period to source many of our upgrade requirements more thoroughly (More about these later)

Finally signed Contract on the 14th November 2007! We will now have to wait for Council approval of plans.

What chance of construction beginning before Christmas?

Extemely slim I am sorry to say... I would expect may be a site scrape before then, but also try and push to get your slab laid before Xmas. That way you get a longer time for it to cure better.. Good luck. We are waiting for titles in Marriot Waters, hopefully get them before Xmas....
